Our Pastor

Born and raised in Southern California, Morris accepted the Lord when he was ten years old. Morris subsequently surrendered his life to full-time ministry in the Bay Area during a youth conference. He is a graduate of West Coast Baptist College with a degree in Bachelor of Religious Education (Bible and Church Ministries). Morris and Elizabeth were high school sweethearts and got married in the summer of 2006. They have three daughters: Mackenzie (6), Madison (4), and Reagan (1).

Elizabeth Henriquez

Elizabeth Henriquez grew up in Lancaster, California. She was saved at the age of twelve as a result of the ministry of Lancaster Baptist Church. Elizabeth surrendered her life to full-time ministry and attended West Coast Baptist College where she graduated in 2004. Following graduation, she worked as an elementary teacher at Shadow Mountain Baptist School for two years. Currently, she enjoys serving in the youth, nursery, and music ministries. Elizabeth loves hosting people at their home and ministering to individual needs.

2001 - 2005

Morris had the opportunity to work at First Baptist Church of Long Beach, California under the leadership of Pastor John Wilkerson. There he had the responsibility to lead the youth group, teach Bible in the Christian school, lead the chapel services for elementary and teen chapels, help preach in the Bible institute, lead multiple public school Bible clubs, lead monthly activities, fulfill the responsibilities of being the athletic director for the school (football, basketball, and volleyball), host youth rallies for the local churches, preach at different churches and youth groups, and help the pastor in any way possible.

2005 - Current

Morris Henriquez was led to take the youth pastor and assistant pastor positions at Shadow Mountain Baptist Church in Morgan Hill, California. There he has grown in many more aspects of the ministry: leading a youth group on a weekly basis, handling all the finances of the church, administrating the special events hosted by the church (teen camp, couples retreat, conferences, community outreach, community events, and a variety of other opportunities), overseeing the media and publications department of the church (web, screens, handouts, outreach banners, postcards, and social media), running the fundraisers for the church and school, conducting weddings and funerals (ordained pastor as of March 2007), preaching out occasionally at youth rallies and school conferences, conducting one-on-one discipleship with new Christians, and counseling teens and families through various circumstances.

Morris Henriquez became the Lead Pastor of Bay Area Baptist on February 1, 2015. He is passionate about the Lord and wants to see more people come to know Christ in the Bay Area.

His goal:

To fulfill the great commission presented in Matthew 28:19-20 (Go, Win, Baptize, Teach)

His life verse:

Philippians 1:27 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
